Pleasant Hill Community Church Sermon Series - Spirituality and the Twelve Steps

Pastor Houston, the interm Pastor of Pleasant Hill Community Church has announced his Sermon Series for March 6 – April 10 Spirituality and the Twelve Steps. Using Richard Rohr’s book Breathing Underwater as a foundation, Pastor Houston will lead our thoughts on how “The 12 steps” is a spiritual tool to help in your own personal transformation. “The deepest and most important spiritual lessons I (have) ever learned came from a circle of drunks, fighting desperately not to drink today, whom I initially viewed as low-life, losers, and who ultimately came to be, for me, the oracles of God. Who is Interested in a November 2022 Work Camp/ Adult Mission Trip? Pleasant Hill Community Church, UCC is holding an information session (please wear your mask) on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm at the Church's Boyce Hall. All are welcome to learn more about Back Bay Mission and it's outstanding mission trip programs and accomodations. Some of the mission opportunities include helpping with the client choice food bank, serve meals at a community kitchen, rehabilitation of Biloxi area housing and offer day services to the unsheltered. The cost is $250 per person. The trip can be postponed or cancelled at any time. All will need to attend a series of educational programs, held and sponsored by Pleasant Hill Community Church, prior to the trip. How You'll Serve During your time on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, you’ll have the opportunity to serve in three of the Mission’s ministries: housing rehabilitation, the food pantry, and the Micah Day Center

Singing bowls have been around for thousands of years, and they are a common fixture in sound healing practices. Come join us on April 24 at Pleasant Hill Community Church, beginning at 3:00pm for a Cystal Bowl Concert. The concert will be performed by Diana and Ron Riggs All are invited to attend and learn some fascinating crystal bowl history while enjoying the beautiful music! Diana Riggs has an extensive musical background where she played piano, organ, and directed choirs to assist in she and Ron's music ministry. Their travels took them from Ohio to California and back to Little Rock, AR, where Riggs played in four different churches over 31 years. Riggs was Pleasant Hill Community Church's music director from December 2015 until November of 2021.
