Pleasant Hill Community Church Updates Memorial Garden Planting
Three urns, holding native flowering plants will be added to the Memorial Garden's inner circle this Spring. The new crescent bed surrounding the circle will be a beautiful native flower garden, where we can feel closer to nature, get our hands in the dirt, and experience being direct caretakers of creation. It’s also a place where we can learn about the impact of native plants.
Native plant populations are decreasing which impacts the local environment. Local insects and birds are dwindling as do our native plants. Just as we have impacted nature with planting non-native plants, we can revserse the harm through the project of Homegrown National Park has proven how this can work.
In addition to the Memorical Garden Native plantings, team members will be adding small plots of native plants, throughout the Uplands and Pleasant Hill communitities. The insects and birds will fly from plot to plot, wildlife will be sustained and biodiversity flourish.
