Pleasant Hill Community Church, UCC is a whole Earth Congregation and being such, we wanted to share some Earth Day facts and activities weekly for a whole month, March 22, until Earth Day on April 22, 2022. F or week 1 we focus on Three Basic Rules of Recycling   We are lucky here in Cumberland County that we have a number of recycling centers throughout the county.  So what can you do at home to make the recycling easier for you and your family?  There a which types of plastic your building and neighborhood will accept. There are three easy rules.  Knowing these rules and putting them into practice will help you recycle more efficiently. Recycle bottles, cans, paper and cardboard. Make sure it's clean! Flatten cardboard. Set up designated recycling containers at home, work, and school. Look for products made out of recycled materials when you shop. Identify Keep food and liquid out of your recycling.   Look into composing.  We will be covering

Pray and Protest for Peace , On Friday, March 4 at 4pm in Cookeville Square We call on all people of good will from across the Upper Cumberland region of Tennesse e, to join us as we pray and protest for peace. Our rally and vigil will take place on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 4pm on the Cookeville Square . We stand in solidarity with victims of violence everywhere, but especially with the brave people of Ukraine, as they stare down an aggressive invasion and possible occupation. We stand in solidarity with courageous protesters across Russia who are saying NO to this immoral war. We also extend solidarity and love to all victims of war, violence, and totalitarian domination that are not making current headlines, including people in Yemen, Syria, Somalia, Myanmar, Gaza, and elsewhere.
